Stacy Fisher: Stacy Fisher uses wood, plaster and latex paint to make colorful sculptures that have livable associations. Her work has been exhibited in New York recently at Cleopatra’s in a two-person show, The Bronx River Arts Center, Nudashank in Baltimore, and with Daily Operation. Fisher was born in Norwalk, Ohio in 1974 and grew up amongst pianos and furniture in her family’s local stores. She lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. stacyfisher.net

Nora Griffin: Nora Griffin was born in 1982 in New York City. She graduated from Oberlin College in 2005, and received an MFA from Columbia University in 2011. Nora makes paintings, drawings, and artist books. She has also written about art and literature for The Brooklyn Rail. In October 2010 she organized the exhibition "Fool's House" at the LeRoy Neiman Gallery at Columbia University. Currently interested in cave painting, Jasper Johns, and the new novel C by Tom McCarthy.

Elisa Lendvay: Elisa Lendvay’s sculptures and paintings arrive out of a haptic sensibility, the result of moving through and with her given environment. In these, she posits forms that lyricize the internal dynamics of that space – its instances of fragmentation and unity, fragility and resilience. Lendvay received her MFA in from Bard College’s Milton Avery Graduate School and her BFA from Bennington College and the University of Texas at Austin. Her work has been exhibited in solo and group shows in New York, Chicago, Texas and Berlin. Awards and residencies include the Swing Space from the Lower Manhattan Cultural Center, the Santa Fe Art Institute, the Vermont Studio Center, the Arch and Anne Giles Kimbrough Award and the DeGolyer Fund Grant from the Dallas Museum of Art. Christian Maychack: Christian Maychack received his MFA from San Francisco State University in 2002 and was a participant at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in 2008. He has had recent solo exhibitions at Gregory Lind Gallery, SF, CA (2011); and Jeff Bailey Gallery, New York, NY (2009). Group shows include the California Biennial, Orange County Museum of Art, Newport Beach, CA (2006); Bay Area Now, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, SF, CA (2005); and Grimm Rosenfeld Gallery, Munich, Germany (2007). Carmelo Midili:
Carmelo Midili was born in Messina, Italy and lives and works in Brooklyn. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the Politecnico di Torino, Italy. He has studied at the Fine Arts Academy in Rome. He has had solo exhibitions at Artspace, Richmond, Kingston Gallery, Boston, Chi-Lin Gallery, Meredith, NH, and Provincia Regionale di Messina, Italy. His work has been reviewed in Flash Art Online Magazine. He has participated in residencies at Vermont Studio Center, Sculpture Space, and Chashama. He has also been awarded the Xavier Gonzales Travel Grant, and the Nessa Cohen Grant .

Jo-Ey Tang: Jo-ey Tang explicates and enacts the circulation of images and objects and the life cycle of ideas. He founded curatorial project The Notary Public, and is picture editor of literary journal n+1. He received his BFA from San Francisco Art Institute, MFA from New York University Steinhardt School in 2011. His first solo exhibition will be in September at Exile, Berlin. jo-eytang.com

Keith J.Varadi: Keith J. Varadi is an artist, poet, and musician. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1985. He received his MFA in Painting and Printmaking from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2011 and his BFA in Painting and Printmaking with a minor in English from Rutgers University in 2008. keithjvaradi.com

Rich Benjamin: Rich Benjamin is the author of Searching for Whitopia: An Improbable Journey to the Heart of White America, winner of a 2009 Editor's Choice award from Booklist and the American Library Association. Katie Booth: Katie Booth graduated from Hampshire College and is currently earning her MFA from the University of Pittsburgh. She’s taught writing at the University of Pittsburgh, and will spend the upcoming academic year teaching writing and literature at Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou, China.

Kevin Doyle: Kevin Doyle is a graduate of the Drama Studies program at Purchase College (SUNY). He is the artistic director of Sponsored By Nobody, an international theatre company based in Brooklyn. Bret Gladstone: Bret Gladstone lives in New York City. He is at work on his first novel and completing an MFA in fiction at Columbia University's School of the Arts.

Jessie Male: Jessie Male has worked as a grant writer, a dance journalist, and a reporter and editor for the number two grocery trade magazine in the country. She has freelanced as a researcher for several writers in New York City. Jessie is completing her MFA in nonfiction at Hunter College. She is working on a memoir.

David McLendon: David McLendon writes fiction and edits the literary journal Unsaid. This is his second visit to The Barn, as he was awarded an Edward F. Albee Foundation Fellowship in 2001. He is presently working on a novel and a collection of stories.

David Mence: David is a writer, director and dramaturge. As Artistic Director of White Whale Theatre his credits include Macbeth Re-Arisen, Convict 002, Melburnalia, Melburnalia No. 2, Othello (Bell Shakespeare) and Blackbird (MTC). David has been a Creative Fellow at the State Library of Victoria, has had stories published in Meanjin and Best Australian Stories 2010, and is writing a PhD on Herman Melville at the University of Melbourne.

Scott Pinkmountain: Scott Pinkmountain (aka Scott Rosenberg) is a musician and a writer living in Laramie, Wyoming. He's had recent work published in A Public Space, Poetry Society of America and Ships That Pass. Previous journalistic work has appeared in The Chicago Reader, Time Out New York, and The Chicago Sun Times. He's released over 20 albums and has recorded and performed with Anthony Braxton, Sam Coomes, Eugene Chadbourne and many others.

Kim Roberts: Kim Roberts is the author of three books of poems, most recently Animal Magnetism, winner of the Pearl Poetry Prize (Pearl Editions, 2011), and the nonfiction chapbook Lip Smack: A History of Spoken Word Poetry in DC (Beltway Editions, 2010). She is editor of the anthology Full Moon on K Street: Poems About Washington, DC (Plan B Press, 2010), and the online journal Beltway Poetry Quarterly. Individual poems of hers have appeared in journals beginning with every letter of the alphabet. William Wallace Rose: William Wallace Rose is a Seattle-based writer, actor and teacher. A year abroad as a child made him a Francophile; he later passed the French baccalauréat at Collège Cevenol International. Later still, with a BFA in Acting/Directing from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, Will taught drama and English at the Ecole d’Humanité (ecole.ch) in Switzerland, and acted, directed, and taught ESL in Prague. He currently teaches creative writing in a Seattle-area high school, and will be finishing his first novel this summer at The Barn. williamwallacerose.com

Matthew Seidman: Matthew Seidman [M K S Volcofsky]’s theater works have been performed by him and others since 1995. He’s had nine works seen, in NYC, Berlin, & Port of Spain, Trinidad; his video work has been seen in festivals in Lisbon & Faro, Portugal. He'll be seen as an actor at The Chocolate Factory in LIC this fall. Currently at work on a novel. His visual art has been seen in solo & group shows in the LES, Williamsburg & Tokyo.
